Many are aware that these are the very end of days. Many, who call themselves "Doomsday Preppers", are gathering together to prepare for the impending doom- earthquakes, hurricanes, famine, disease, wars and the like. According to the word of God, however, these are just the beginning of birth pains. The true doomsday (for Christians) will be that time when the anti-Christ will step in on the scene and proclaim to be the Messiah. At this time, which will be worse than any other time in history, children of God are instructed to flee to the mountains (Mt. 24)!

When They Flee, What Will They Eat?

The third time He said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love Me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love You." Jesus said, "Feed My sheep- John 21:17.

The time has come for Christians to stop debating about when the end will take place, who will be the anti-Christ, whether the rapture will take place before or after Jesus' return, and various other discussions that only lead to division and distraction, and simply keep watch and be ready for Jesus' return as He told us to do. Although there is much information about the spiritual requirements of God’s sheep in these last days- pray, stand firm, keep the faith, and the like- very little is being said about our physical requirements. The word of God reveals that first came the natural, then the spiritual- 1 Corinthians 15:46. If God had physical requirements for Noah to build the ark, Lot to flee from Sodom, Joseph to store up food for the famine, Moses to raise his staff to build a highway through the Red Sea, and even for abolitionists like Harriet Tubman of the Underground Railroad to establish safe houses during times of tribulation for the purpose of feeding and taking care of her people, you can best believe He has a specific physical requirement for end time believers to feed and take care of His sheep during times of GREAT tribulation.

Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD- Jeremiah 8:7.

Many bible scholars believe that the anti-Christ stepping in on the scene claiming to be the Messiah, as mentioned in Matthew 24:16, marks the beginning of the Great Tribulation. At which time, Jews will flee to Petra in southern Jordan, which are the closest mountains to the east in southern Jordan. There, they will receive divine protection and provision by God, similar to the time when the Jews were fed manna in the wilderness. Daniel 11:41 says that Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will escape from the hands of the Anti-Christ. Rev. 12:14 tells of Satan pursuing them across the desert as they flee to a place prepared for them in the desert, and in Isaiah 63: 1-6 there is a description of the Lord coming from Bozrah, the region of Edom where Petra is located, after single handedly defeating His enemies there. This indicates that God will declare Jordan off limits to the anti-Christ, and will give His people refuge there.

As for the rest of the household of faith, however, we must believe that God will also prepare a place of refuge for us, at it is His desire for us to live an abundant life all the way up until the time when Jesus comes back for us. Many, however, believe that we will not receive the same supernatural provision as those in the southern region of Israel, but that we ourselves, must prepare for our own provision with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Oftentimes, preachers teach that during what is commonly known as the Great Tribulation period, one must be willing to give up his life for Christ (and one must, should it become necessary). However, even during these perilous times to come, God has a profound, prophetic, and parabolic, TOP SECRET plan for His children to live the abundant lives that He has purposed for us.
